Although this is not what I want to be communicating, I am writing today to announce that for the rest of July, we will pause our regathering efforts and shift back to online services only. Services will be broadcast online on Saturdays at 5 pm and Sundays at 9 and 11 am. Again, this is at least through the rest of July.
This decision was made after much prayer, consideration and discussion. Pastor Dave will be speaking more about this in the message this weekend, but for a number of reasons, shifting back online is what seems wise at this moment as we seek to let God lead us as a church.
Six weeks ago, we announced that we would begin to regather, and our first services together again began two weeks after moving into Pennsylvania’s Green Phase. Since then, much has changed.Recently, local case numbers have increased sharply, new restrictive limits regarding gathering sizes were put in place and then extended for much of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and the state issued a mask mandate. As a result, both in-person attendance at worship services and the experience of worshipping together have been impacted.
So for now, we move back online. We have developed an excellent on-line experience that can be viewed on Facebook, Youtube, and our home page. HEREis the link to watch online.I am thankful that we can shift toward this, especially in moments like this.
No doubt this is a season of great uncertainty. Despite the seemingly ever-changing landscape, I still have great confidence that the Lord is fighting on behalf of His church and followers in Southwestern Pennsylvania and the world. We will regather together again in the future.
Exodus 14:13-14: “And Moses said to the people, 'Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.'”
I am reminded that God is leading us, and because of that we can choose to continue to believe in His victorious big picture, to not be afraid, and to never let go of hope.
Love you all and I look forward to seeing you this weekend online!
