regathering 7/05 |  11 am service

Happy Friday Church,

I hope you all are enjoying your week and are ready for a fun 4th of July Weekend. It was so good seeing so many of you last weekend and seeing our kids regather. Though it was different from what we are used to, that fact that I get to worship with you again makes this all worth it. I love that I get to serve alongside of you and I am so excited to see what God is going to do in and through our church this next season.  Regarding this weekend, we have continued to monitor the situation, along with what the CDC and Allegheny County have been communicating. And even though this does not apply to churches, we want to do our best to make sure you and your family feel safe. So for this weekend, we will remain open but we need your help. Please, help us by wearing your mask, social distancing, and as hard as it may be, no handshakes or hugs. I know it is “Your Right” when it comes to wearing a mask or not. Regardless of where you stand, by choosing to wear one is letting our people know just how much you care about them. So, let’s make this Sunday great but helping others to feel safe and welcome.

If you and your family plan on joining us this Sunday at our new time 11:00a.m. and have not yet registered, please do so by clicking HEREIf you have kids and would like them to join in on the fun in our Kids Ministry be sure to register them according to their age. Remember, spots are limited so please register them soon. Again, this is simply to make sure we have enough seats as well as enough volunteers to facilitate our kids’ environments. This information will not be shared.

As we prepare for this weekend, here’s a few things to highlight:

Face Masks – I know for many of us have a personal preference on whether we should or should not wear masks. I also know for some of us, this is a deciding factor on whether you will attend or not. However, in this season of regathering, the CDC is encouraging everyone to wear a mask. So, as a church, I think it is important that we do the same and we are highly encouraging it. I know this will upset some of you and I totally understand, but for now we feel it is important to encourage the CDC’s recommendation. We will have masks available for you if you would like one.

Temperature Checks – To make sure our kids are in a Healthy and Safe environment; we will be taking temperatures of all volunteers as well as kids. We ask that before you come Sunday, take a moment and take your kids temperatures. We would hate to tell a kid as well as a volunteer that you can’t serve or enter our kids’ environments due to a temperature of 100.4 or above but in order to maintain the safety of everyone serving and participating, we may have to do so.

  • Time – With our new service time being at 11, we ask that everyone please try to be on time or even early if you are able. This will allow us the time needed to temperature check volunteers and kids upon arrival each week.
  • Patience and Grace – as we take this first step of regathering, let’s be people who honor one another with patience and grace, as we all figure this new normal out together.  Take a moment to read Colossians 3 as a reminder of the “new self” we are called to walk in every day.

I know this next season is really different from what we are used to. So, the last thing we want is for anyone to feel upset or forced back into an environment that you may not be ready for. Please know, if you are not quite ready to regather…. That Is Ok. We will continue to provide our online service on both Saturday evenings at 5 and Sundays at 9 and 11 along with children and student experiences for you and your family on Facebook and YouTube as well as online at

Here are a few other things coming up in the next few weeks:

BLOOD DRIVE -  This is the last week to pre-register before it gets pen to the public. On Tuesday, July 21st from 1-5pm, North Way will be holding a blood drive at our location. We had such a great response last time that we thought it would be good to do it again. And to make sure you get a chance to donate, we are asking everyone to log on to this site: and enter the sponsor code: NWHILLSIDE to register. They do plan on opening this up to the public so if you plan on registering, please do so soon before spots are filled.

Again, I hope you all have a great weekend and I can’t wait to see you this Sunday at 11.
